I do understand the feelings of a Persian Cat . . . But the Sphinx looked so cute I had to shave it . . . He reminds me of parsley when he's standing there all alone . . . Makes me wanna be his speciality . . . (First line) She calls Sonic a cat, which is an old way of saying he's cool and suave. Ever heard the expression "cool cat?" She then adds to this, calling him a Persian cat. Persian cats are considered the most beautiful and elegant. She says she understands feelings of those type of people, and him in particular. She repeats that later in the song, saying that she senses him being tense, and knows that he needs someone in his life as well. (Second line) Amy calls Sonic by another feline name, this time calling him a sphinx, which are considered to be great, powerful, and god like. She says that he was so cute, she had to shave him. She most likely means that, when she first saw him, she shaved down his rough prickly exterior, or looked passed it, to see the soft, warm, caring person inside. (Third line) Parsley is that herb that adds flavor and scent, which nobody eats (or most people don't). When she calls him parsley, she again refers to him as being very good person, adding taste and good stuff to life, but at the same time, when someone is being called parsley (I didn't know it was being done, but apparently is it), they mean that the person is one of those people who's company is greatly appreciated, but is one of those people with whom nobody wants to get close with. Interesting choice of words, I think. (Fourth line) Makes me wana be his speciality... You figure that one out :)
